Life gets hard sometimes. We feel like it is unbearable, we feel like giving up. That is because we focus on the pain and pain only. We dwell on the wounds the pain leaves us with.

We all need gratitude in our life. Especially those of us who say we have nothing to be grateful for. We often forget that there is always something to be grateful about; even the hardest challenges give us something to be grateful for. They teach us valuable lessons.

We should be grateful for one thing. We should be grateful for our life. Our precious lives have blessed us with so many things. For instance, we inhale the fresh air, see the mesmerizing sunsets, and hear the wonderful sounds of nature.

We live with all of this happening right in front of our eyes and yet we do not realize that life is a gift we should be grateful for. And that is why we need more gratitude in our lives.

We have people who support us unconditionally. They always have our backs. We have a family that stands by us from the very beginning of our lives. And we have friends who will be there through thick and thin. These people are the treasures we live with. They give us strength, they give us love, and they give us reasons to be alive: all the more, reasons to be grateful.

This is not to say that there were people who hurt us. They left us heartbroken. And you know what? We should be grateful for them too. Why? Because they made us see why we shouldn’t be so naive and gullible. Besides, they made us stronger, wiser, and more resilient.

And above all, we should be grateful for the things we take for granted. The food on our table, the sun that is shining in the sky, the rain that falls on the ground, and everything! It is the little things that matter the most. And if we are not thankful for them, we wouldn’t be able to see the beauty in anything else. And there is another thing too: we should be thankful for our mistakes and flaws. After all, they are what makes us human beings. They make us who we are, they show us the way to our self-growth and how to understand life better.

So no matter what life throws at you, take a step back, and see all the things you have to be grateful for. Things that make you smile, warm your heart up, and make your soul shine.
